Talk about Raquetball, Squash, Handball and other Racket Court type sports
So last night I played Brooke for the Summer League
A thorough spanking was received.
First game 15-2 second game 15-5 third 15-8
So first game he served first and racked up 6 points right off the bat. Most on volley's but a few aces. He is very quick and has a good kill shot. I tried to play him hard and nail him with my drive serves but he was returning everything I sent his way. On the volleys I was hitting hard and low and he was reaching everything. He had very good court positioning throughout the game.
The second game, about mid way through I realised I needed to hit more ceiling shots and keep him in the back court and running around. So that's what I did. I forced a few errors as he was running out of breath and made a few swing and misses here and there so the change up was working. But whenever I had a chance at a kill shot he was right there and returned it with a better, lower kill shot.
Third game I stopped all but a few drill serves and went as high as I could go on serves and volleys. This scored me many more points and kept me in the game until his last service round where he aced me 4-5 times and then won a volley or two for the win. Score was 8-8 before that and then he just took the game in a matter of minutes. I had him running all over the court but he was getting to everything. Again he showed excellent positioning and always moved back to center court after he hit the ball.
Regardless he was a lot of fun to play and showed a lot of sportsmanship.
This will put me at 4 wins and 8 losses on all games played and 1 win and 3 losses for matches for the summer league. I play terry next and that is the final match of the league. So hopefully I can pull out a few more wins.
(A match is 3 games during the summer league)
