OK last Game was a smack down.
I lost 3 games to 0.
15-4
15-12
15-7
David had an incredible serve that I either could not return or if I did was a perfect set up for him to ding it in the lower right corner for a pinch shot.
Second game was so close cause I served first and was able to keep the ball on his backhand and took a bit of lead then lost it at the end.. Close game.
2 matches left, both named Terry. Terry K and I have played alot and he's very athletic (former US Olympian in Ice Skat…

A thorough spanking was received.
First game 15-2 second game 15-5 third 15-8
So first game he served first and racked up 6 points right off the bat. Most on volley's but a few aces. He is very quick and has a good kill shot. I tried to play him hard and nail him with my drive serves but he was returning everything I sent his way. On the volleys I was hitting hard and low and he was reaching everything. He had very good court positioning throughout the game.
The second game, about mid way thr…

So last night I played Danny for match 3 of the Racquetball Summer League at the Big C.
I played well, won all three games 15-8, 15-12 and 15-8. The second game was the closest as he took an early lead with 4 ace's on the serves right from the beginning. I found myself "dwelling" on some bad returns and missed backhands that were supposed to be easy returns. When the score hit 7-8 I started hitting a differnet serve. I started in center court and hit a drive serve to his backhand, hard and low…

I played Brad first a trainer at the gym and lost 2 games to 1
Game 1; I was up most of the game and ended up loosing it on a couple of service aces
Game 2; was a close game and lasted a long time. He was up most of the game and I came back took the lead and then lost it 15-13
Game 3; I put my nose to the grind stone and won 15-8 if I remember correctly.
Brad is in very good shape, I was running him all over the court and he…

Saleem and I have run into each other at the gym on several occasions. He's always been very helpful and supportive and said he will play anyone any time. So after several attempts I finally got a few games in with him.
I held my own the first game 15 to 8 I lost and second game I lost 15 to 2.
I kept hitting the ball to his forehand which is pretty much anything 6 inches to the left of the left wall. He always positions himself for a forehand shot if he can. He has a good backhand but his for…

Played about 1.5 hours of cut throat with Marshal and his 12 yr old son Steven. Marshal is an A player but is dealing with a torn hamstring so can't get around like he used to and Steven was actually a very solid C player.
We all kept it competitive and had some fun on a lazy Saturday afternoon.
Monday my feet are still killing me as Sunday we wen to the Walnut Creek Art and Wine festival and walked around fo 4 hours.

No hand eye coordination, can barely breathe and haed is in a fog.
Not sure if it's due to lack of sleep from the concert last nite or the head cold.
Ahh I'm thinking headcold...but the concert was good.

So I was hanging out in front of the glass court watching a couple play and then the court became empty so I invited the guy sitting next to me to play. He was waiting for a doubles game but agree to get a short game in while he was waiting for the rest of his group to show up.
Trevor and I played a game and it was a smack down. What a difference in level of play between the two of us. I was amazed and the speed in which he can hit the ball and accuracy of the shots. I did manage to score a few…

Finally feeling better. Antibiotics are a good thing:-)
Felt good to be back in the gym and playing though it's getting a bit boring doing drills and such the whole time by myself.
I signed up for the racquetball tounament which starts June 16th so that'll give me some time to build up the stamina and hopefully I'll stay healthy between now and then.

Last Wed I took off from working out/racquetball and Thursday am woke up with a huge head cold. At this time I'd like to thank my wife and kids for sharing their germs with me. I thought I was going to skirt by, everyone in the family was getting better. I didn't even make it work on Thursday or Friday. Not like me at all. But I could not even think clearly.
So after nearly a week I got back into the gym, with a head full of coagulous "fluid" clogging my sinus passages. I felt drained but it wa…

OK legs, sore, feet, sore, back sore, right should sore, right hand sore. Mission accomplished, I'm sore.
Today's work out:
First I hit the sauna to warm up and stretch.
My philosophy is to get the kinks out you have to play again the day after pushing a little hard. This gets the muscles warmed up and moving again. It may not feel good at the time but the next day you can walk. I find if I don't work out again the very next day I'm toast or butta whatever the expression du jour is.
So today…

Ok after being away from racquetball for nearly 10 years I've picked it back up again. I joined a local club "The Big C" in Concord, CA a few weeks back and have just been getting back into the swing of things and trying to get my endurance level back up to play a full game without passing out.
I had a lesson today with Dave and he reviewed some of the lessons and drills I used to do 10 years ago and after a 10-15 min warm up with him and another member Terry we did a round robin just to get us…
